Need an idea of where
to do your shoot?
All of these places are only suggestions! I totally understand that once you get your photo date booked now you have to figure out where to do it, and that typically ends up being the hardest part.
Take a scroll through these suggestions with a few photo examples.
Paw Paw Park
Paw Paw Park in Zeeland is a great option. I love taking family photos here and Seniors. There are plenty of places, but my favorite is for sure this stunning weeping willow tree. If you adventure further into the park you can find a bridge, some paths, and open fields!
Felt Mansion
The Felt Mansion is another beautiful spot. Here you can find an abundance of photo stops. There is the chapel, open field, the Mansion, the carriage house, as well as the woods. The mansion makes a great spot if you are wanting a variety of photos.
Fredrick Meijer Gardens
I love capturing memories here. I do request if you would like to do photos here inside or outside you do pay for my entrance ticket. This place has an amazing variety of options both inside and outside. Between their greenhouses inside, and all the florals outside there is so much potential for great photos. A great option for the winter months.
Holland State Park
Being Based in Holland, I will always suggest the State park and other surrounding beaches. Between the sand and water and the beautiful beach grass there are so many options for beautiful pictures. IF you do not have a state pass the entrance fee is around $15 dollars. But there are other beaches we can go to if you Aren’t interested in the pass or don’t have one.
Riley Trails
Riley Trails is not only a great place to mountain bike but a beautiful place to take photos. In all four seasons you can get some amazing photos with the bridge, the little ponds, as well as the trails in the woods. I highly suggest this options for family, Seniors, everything!
Windmill Island
I love Windmill island. There is an entrance fee for Non-Resident of Holland but if you are a Holland Resident it is free to you year round ( with the exception of events they host). This is a very cute and adorable village like feel. And in the summer the blooms are immaculate. There's such a variety of color throughout the summer season as well as the spring with the tulips. There's also cute buildings as well as large trees for lots of shade.
The Holland Greenhouse
The charming little greenhouse use to be used by the city of Holland. Since it is no longer in use it has now turned itself into a popular little photo stop for families, and couples throughout the Holland area. If you are in need or want of something simple and easy the greenhouse is a great option for you.
Spring Grove Park
This park isn’t local to Holland, but it is a beautiful park located near the Hudsonville/Grandville area. With stunning landscapes and the stream flowing throughout , you are bound to get a lot of great shots here. Sounds for couples, families, and even extended families.
My Backyard
you heard that right, I said my backyard. This is a great option for those very quick and Small sessions. Want just a few updated headshots of your kiddos? Perfect spot for it. Quick and easy and no travel fee either. (Best option for updated headshots, or quick updated Portraits of the kiddos)
In Your Home
For newborns and even family sessions, I think it can be so special to do your session in the comfort of your own home. Obviously this doesn’t have to be the case, but if your home has some charm, or you don’t want to leave the house with that sweet little newborn this is always a great option for you and your little family. If you're interested in a shoot like this reach out and we can chat about the options within and outside of your home.
